Our Story
My name is Jessica Spaid and I live in Statesboro, Georgia. My dogs and I compete and train in a variety of dog sports. I grew up with Labrador Retrievers and mixed breed dogs as family pets. Then in high school I got my first dog that was truly mine - an Australian Shepherd named Rusty rescued through the local humane society. We did a lot of trainings and preparation for dog sports but ultimately never made it to the competition ring. Then, after college, I got Sophie also an Australian Shepherd rescued through the same local humane society. Sophie was my first true sport dog. Through these adventures with Sophie I was introduced me to the wider world of dog sports and purebred dogs. Sophie has been a great teacher, mirror and friend. In 2022, after years of being around the Border Terrier breed through Leslie Sprando of Scentsible Borders, I brought home my first Border Terrier - Claire. Claire very quickly cemented the idea that I never want to go without a Border Terrier as long as I live. Her enthusiasm, affection, versatility and resiliency are very representative of the breed and of my favorite traits in dogs. It is my hope to help contribute to Border Terrier breed through displaying how wonderful this breed is by excelling in sports while also being a wonderful family companion. I also plan to breed a limited amount of litters should my dogs meet the high standards of health, versatility and performance set forth by the Border Terrier Club of America of which I am a member.
